uhhhhh, it works?4
The PS3 comes with an incredibly short usb cable for charging your controller, as such, leaving that plugged in and using it to navigate is a no go. I use my blu-ray time as time to recharge my controller, (because of the incredibly short cable), and use my remote to control my movies, and maybe checkout the psn store occasionally.

Pros, its the best PS3 Remote currently available. It looks very nice and high end, you can tell it was well made, rather... well built.

The problems come in the actual USE stage. Setting up the remote is rather simple that's not a problem. But it could be easier for the less technically sound.

The worse thing about this remote is, if you touch 1 button, your ps3 comes on. This is stupid. If you got your remote on a table, and you accidentally set another remote on it while your watching tv, guess what, ps3 pops on. (better make sure you setup your system to not auto start).

This would be so much better if only the PS button effected the powering up of the PS3, but thats not the case.

Another option that would eliminate this is a simple "hold" button, that is also not the case.

Another problem with the remote is its not illuminated. I know it doesn't say illuminated, but I like watching movies in the dark. After a few movies you know where the buttons are, thankfully we have some colored buttons, they are not too obvious to see at night, but you can make out ok this is red, so push the button above it to see the subtitles or below it to see how far into the movie you are (speaking of which, why cant we see how much time is remaining?)

Now to the positives (which I think outshine most of the negatives, but not the fact that the stupid ps3 turns on whenever a button is pressed anywhere (put this thing in its own box and keep it shut!).

It looks very good. The xbox 360 remote looks out of place with the rest of my "decor", as my tv remote is black, receiver remote is black, tivo remote is black, ps3 controller is black, it only makes sense to have a black remote.

The remote looks very high end, and works without problem. (not counting the issues of it turning on when you touch it, not having a power off button and having to hold down the ps button then choosing cut system off).

The biggest "feature" is bluetooth. I have a xbox 360, and I got that remote, its a joke, you have to push buttons several times, and it becomes increasingly frustrating, because you have to have direct line of sight. This ps3 remote uses bluetooth technology, and I can point this thing at my head (the opposite direction) and it still operates my ps3.

This is a nice remote, I recommend buying it (as it is better than using your ps3 controller), it is better than some of the cheaper off brand remotes, especially those which require plugging in some hideous looking device on your usb port. And it "looks" good. But understand you will have some compromises.

Very cool remote5
Just thought I would post a quick review for this remote. Although I knew that this remote was blue-ray technology I didn't think about it due to years of normal remotes, but this remote is cool because you don't have to point it at your system. Yes I know that is a DUH comment for plenty of people, but I think for the person who doesn't know much about how technology works that it is a pretty cool thing to know. It is bigger than the old ps2 remote, I wish it was a lot smaller. However I imagine this does a lot more. I don't use this remote for anything other than watching movies on my system but it's great for that. Responds well, looks nice, had no problems setting it up with my system. A good buy, I will however mention look for it online because I found mine much cheaper than in stores.

Only real choice4
Since the PS3 doesn't have an IR port, a Bluetooth remote is the only option. Now I think that using Bluetooth for a remote is a great idea, but that means I can't use my great universal remote until Logitech develops a remote with Bluetooth. The remote itself works great and has all the functions you would need. It's true there is no one button for power off, so that is kind of a pain. However any button you press will turn your PS3 on. This can be annoying sometimes since it's Bluetooth and so doesn't need to be pointed at the PS3 or even have line-of-sight. It can be under a cushion when you sit down and all of a sudden you PS3 is whirring up. I guess in this sense it's good there is no one touch power off. Turning the PS3 off is a 3 button affair. Press and hold the PS button for about two seconds. Now press the OK button twice about a second apart from each other. You will see the hard drive light start to blink for a few seconds and your PS3 will turn off.

As it stands this is your only real choice for full functionality and thankfully it is not a bad one. It feels sturdy and does what needs to be done. If like me, you use your PS3 primarily for watching Blu-Ray movies then this is a must have.
