Very durable little thingamajig. 5
I've had my adapter for about a year. Today, I left it in my laptop when packing it up on accident and broke the heck out of it without noticing. When I took the laptop out, the adapter was bent at a 90 degree angle and the cover had snapped open! I noticed that the plug was soldered on very solidly, so I carefully bent it back into it's original shape, and after finding the other half of the case, I snapped it back on. I plugged it back into the computer, and lo and behold, it still works! I use it with my phone and with my portable printer, and it is working fine.

Predictably Unreliable1
This bluetooth adapter has never worked well. Connections are regularly dropped. Device profiles regularly disappear. Packets are regularly dropped. I initially tried to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking, but after so many minutes of use, recognition would drop to nearly zero - then I would go back to listen to the sound files, and they would be completely unintelligible.

I just can't say enough bad things about this unit. =

I bought this Kensington Blue Tooth USB Adapter to allow me to synchronize my Palm Centro Smart Phone with my HP 64 bit laptop computer. The Palm Centro Smart Phone is not compatible with 64 bit computers and the tech support at Palm said the company is working to develop a compatible software, but that a blue tooth synch would be the alternative. So I researched online and found this Kensington, which I installed on my computer last night. Installation was a snap on my HP Windows Vista computer and the phone was immediately recognized by the computer once Kensington was installed. The hot synch went flawlessly and I am now able to enjoy the benefits of this blue tooth technology with my Palm Smart Phone, which will be my preference for doing the hot synch, even after the compatible software is released. I would highly recommend this blue tooth adapter.
