The Polk Monitor PSW10 utilizes a 10-inch polymer-composite dynamic-balance cone driver for tight musical bass, as well as state-of-the-art laser-based Klippel measurement technology that perfectly centers the subwoofer's voice coil in its magnetic field for improved linearity and deep, precise sound. This unit's non-resonant all-MDF enclosure construction with 0.75-inch-thick baffles and internal bracing ensures superior detail, accuracy and musicality. The Monitor PSW10 includes a built-in high-current amplifier that supplies all the power you need for big bass. This amp features adjustable low-pass crossover, phase switch and subwoofer volume control to more easily control your bass output and the sub's blending characteristics with your front stage speakers, and signal-sensing automatic circuitry that knows when to turn itself on and off. Very Nice, for The Price
Needed to replace and old Advent 8" sub and after looking around and doing some reading, I settled on this one. While I'd have to agree with a few of the negatives I've read regarding it's performance at high volumes. For me it's a very good fit!

I don't normally listen at high volumes and if you're also one of these people, I would say look no further. This sub performs very well for your average TV/DVD watcher, the reponse is good and the crossover and loudness adjustments work very well. It was a vast improvement over my old sub. I am more then pleased with my choice and I hope you will be also!

Super Nice Base after a long quest for one.
After trying some inexpensive base bought from local stores, this Polk subwoofer is a very nice for my home theatre system. I can hear the boomings every time. I recommend this item to those who're looking for a nice sub but does not cost too much.

I purchased this sub along with Polk R50 speakers and an Onkyo TX SR505 receiver. The bass from this is GREAT!!I set it up yesterday and me and my girlfriend were watching Pirates of Caribbean and it sounded great,there was an explosion and it felt like we were right there feeling the concussion we both looked at each other and smiled and said did you feel that?I would highly recommend this product. Sure you could spend more money on a sub but why bother when this sub packs quite a punch.
