From the Manufacturer
The Polk Audio RC65i 2-way In-wall Speaker delivers incredible sound to any room in your home without using any floor or shelf space. The RC65i is easy to install, requiring only that you cut a hole, feed the wires through, and simply drop the speaker in where it is held in place by rotating cams that safely secure the speaker with no extra assembly or mess. Once installed, the paintable grille and flange allows this in-wall speaker to virtually disappear in the room.
The Polk RC65i utilizes a 6.5-inch dynamic-balance, mineral filled polymer-composite cone with a rubber surround that outlasts cheaper foam surrounds, as well as a 0.75-inch dynamic-balance, metalized soft dome tweeter with a swivel mount. The swivel-mounted tweeter is aimable for direct high frequency control that ensures spacious imaging with amazing clarity, and well-balanced sound in any listening position, even off-axis listening positions, rather than in just a small sweet spot. Constructed of durable, moisture resistant materials, the RC65i is safe for use in bathrooms, kitchens, saunas, or even under outdoor eaves, and features a wide-dispersion design for even sound-coverage throughout even large rooms. The RC65i also features infinite baffle tuning which uses the virtual enclosure of in-wall space for superior bass response, and is timbre-matched to the Polk Audio Monitor Series for seamless, enveloping imaging when used in a home theater system.

A great pair of speakers
I am using them for my rear surrounds. Worked like they are supposed to. Easy to install. They sound great. They look great.
Fit the Bill
I am overall very pleased with these speakers. Unfortunately, there were a few unforeseen glitches that I ran into that were not anyone's fault. My builder put wood between the studs in the wall where I wanted to mount the speakers. This was done because he thought I was going to mount regular speakers. I had all of my speaker wire installed behind the drywall as the house was being built 12 years ago. Of course this was great when I had regular speakers but . . . I recently decided to mount in-wall speakers. Thus, I had to purchase a reciprocal saw to cut the wood from the wall. The other glitch was that I wanted to paint the speakers using latex paint as I decided to repaint the room. Latex paint will work, but you have to be patient and use multiple coats. So, what should have taken minutes actually took many hours. This is not Polk's fault as my situation was somewhat unique. The bottom line is that the speakers look and sound great. I'm very pleased with the purchase. Now I have to decide if I should replace my front speakers. Hmm. . .
Great speakers with aimable tweeters
Installation was very easy. The frame and grill took paint beautifully and blended right into the wall. A thin film behind the grill hides the speaker cones. I wish I could have done all 5 channels with these units, but a corner installation doesn't make sense with this product.
Our room is a strange shape, so the aimable tweeters really came in handy to get the surround just right. As always, it's tough to beat Polk on price vs performance.
