From the Manufacturer
Nikon has introduced an upgrade of the successful Travelite binocular series, popular with hikers, birders, and nature enthusiasts. The new Travelite V series binoculars incorporate several new features designed to make them more user-friendly while enhancing optical performance. Each model in the Travelite series has 25mm objective lenses for maximum light gathering. Close focus distance is under 14 feet for all models. The field-of-view range is 220 feet for this 12x25 model. Nikon Travelite V binoculars utilize precision-ground, multicoated optics, and high-index BaK4 prisms for true color rendition, maximum sharpness, and enhanced light transmission. They also use aspherical eyepiece lenses that provide a very flat viewing field and offer markedly improved edge-to-edge sharpness over many conventional lenses.
A new, ergonomically contoured, carbon-fiber body makes the Travelite V easy to use for long viewing sessions without physical fatigue. The lightweight body encases a rugged all-metal chassis and is covered with a durable black rubber armor that provides added shock resistance and a positive grip in slippery conditions. It also features large, conveniently located central focus knobs and clicking diopters.
Customer Reviews
Oh, WOW!
A fine compact set of quality binoculars, at an affordable price. We own many sets of binoculars. These will undoubtedly be the most used. Shortly before Christmas, my wife said she wished we had a "good" set of binoculars that were easier to carry than our others. (Our others are at least 10X50s) I ordered her these for Christmas. I was not prepared for how small they are! I was plesantly surprised by the image quality. We will ALWAYS have these with us in the car and on hikes. We will decide which other set I get to carry on the day of the excursion. (Probably the 70X15s most days). The trade offs are that we do sacrifice a little image brigtness and some field of view, but for our uses, these are more than compensated by the reduced weight and smaller size!
Birdwatching, her new hobby.
I wanted a new set of Binocs for Shannons birthday, we stopped into several stores to look at the different brands. These are compact, lightweight, and really bring in alot.
