![]() | Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Dual-Core Processor, 2.66 GHZ, 4M L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB, LGA775
Buy new: $169.99 / Used from: $150.00 Dual core, 2.66MHz, 1333MHz front side bus, before overclocking. This CPU is in the sweet spot of price/performance. A little more performance will cost a lot. If you overclock it, replace the stock cooler - but you don't need to overclock this for good performance.

A good quality motherboard that supports what you will need for gaming, but not loaded with features you won't need.
SATA3, 1 PCIex16 slot, DDR2 1066, passive cooling for the chipset.

![]() | Antec Nine Hundred Steel ATX Ultimate Gamer PC Case (Black)
Buy new: $98.53 / Used from: $74.99 Good looking case with plenty of cooling using four high quality quiet fans. Front panel on the top of the case is very convenient with the computer on floor. My favorite case.

![]() | XFX PVT88PYDD4 GeForce 8800GT 512MB XXX 670Mhz PCI Express x16 SLI Ready Video Card ( Dual DVI / S-Video )
Buy new: $166.99 GeForce 8800GT is a new card and hard to get. But it is worth the wait!
New 65nm chip means it is cooler running, but performs as well as its more expensive 8800Gxx brothers, but at a significantly lower price!
I picked the XFX because of their good warranty.

![]() | Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB Internal Serial ATA-300 7,200 RPM, 16MB Hard Drive - ST3320620AS
Buy new: $69.98 / Used from: $59.95 Seagate Barracuda - high quality, quiet drives
SATA 300, 7200RPM, 16MB cache - fast!
320GB - sweet spot for GB/$
Whatever you get, buy 3 and set them up as Raid 5. Striped for even more speed, yet data redundancy so when one drive fails you don't loose any data, just replace it and the RAID will repair itself!

![]() | Antec Neo-HE-430 430-Watt High Efficiency Power Supply Unit
Buy new: $68.24 / Used from: $86.97 You don't have to use an Antec power supply with an Antec case, but this happens to be a very nice unit. Seasonic is better, but twice the price.
430-watts is more than enough for this system. 80% efficient with so it runs cooler even though it has a quiet, low RPM fan. Modular cables so your case is not cluttered with unused cables.

![]() | Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard
Buy new: $73.99 / Used from: $88.47 Get the "New G15". This gamer's keyboard has been improved by making it smaller, and changing the backlight from blue (which was barely readable except in the dark) to a much more useful, and just as cool looking amber.

![]() | Logitech MX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse
Buy new: $79.99 / Used from: $36.98 The ultimate gaming mouse. Laser accuracy, lots of buttons, very ergonomic shape (not for lefties).
I like the wireless version because you never have to worry about the cord restricting your movement. If you must have wired, get the G5 instead.

![]() | Belkin Nostromo Speedpad n52
