at $4 each, this is a great deal
Use this only for regular cheap electronics and mainly at places where you need extra plugs. The item is $4 each, so if you expect this to handle major power surges and protect your $10000 equipment, then you will be dissappointed.

Use these for normal daily use, like you need extra plugs for all the cel phone charger, handheld devices charger, or other small electronics. I've got over 18 of these cheap ones at office and home, all works perfectly fine. There is no need to spend $30 each on more powerful outlets when these $4 ones does the job fine. Then on the big ticket electronics, that's where you need to spend some extra and buy the protection.

Not a Surge Protector At All
I received these today, and while they are fine multiple outlets and do include a circuit breaker/on-off switch, they do not include any surge protection at all. A surge protector, as I have always understood the term, protects against irregular, sudden increases in line voltage caused by lightening strikes, etc. The circuit breaker on these outlets protects only against a short circuit in the item you've plugged in. Totally different purpose.

Great Buy
There's not a lot to say about a cheap surge supressor. All of them work well and I've yet to have any issues even on the two where I'm using every available outlet. The don't appear to overheat as was the problem with the previous "cheap" outlet strips I've used before. I wouldn't use them for expensive A/V equipment or computer gear, but for fishtanks and miscellaneous charging cords they work great. I've mounted one inside a cabinet drawer to charge my ipod and phone each night with no worries. Good product for the price.
