Her quest lures her through an explosive music scene, down unlit alleyways, to the edge of a towering church rooftop, and into the nightmarish landscape of her own mind. Yoda?3
I'll let the other reviewers talk about the plot. But after reading this book, which was a pretty good story overall, I have to admit I found myself constantly rearranging sentences and substituting words throughout the book. The syntax was often "off kilter" and there, were, too, many, commas, or at least it seemed to me. I was reminded with the way Yoda talked, in that sort of backwards questioning way. Other than that, I enjoyed it.

Fast paced, easy to read4
This is Laura's story of vengeance and salvation. She dwells in between worlds as she seeks vengeance for the brutal murder of her family. A phantom.
I really enjoyed this book and could not stop reading it. It was a brilliant start for a young author and I look forward to Mr. Aleman's next novel.

I was not able to put this book down!5
I was so excited to get my copy of this book that I opened it as soon as I got it in the mail. I could not put this book down. Lewie has such a way with worlds that I found myself getting lost in the poetic nature of the story. I had moments where I yelled at the characters in the book, I almost cried when her family died. It is a rare thing to be able to picture the character and story in your head as you read, However, Lewie is a master when it comes to drawing the reader in.

I agree when Lewie was compared to Edgar Allen Poe. There is something so dark and sinister that you find yourself turning the pages faster and faster. I do reccomend that this book be read by someone who can focus on the story at hand. At first I was not impressed and I did not get past the first chapter, however I gave it another shot and I was not able to put this book down. The wording can be a bit much for those who are not used to such. But I promise, give this story a shot and you have found a new author to become sligtly obssessed about.

To the Author: I have been dreaming about this story and about Laura. She has struck a cord within me and I thank you for that. I do hoope that the gift I have given you makes sense and that you can take it into consideration when writing the rest of the books.
