Truely Disappointing
I wanted to purchase a pump to replace the hospital pump I was renting. I must have read over 100 reviews before I talked myself into spending the money on this pump. When I finally did I could not have been more disappointed. With the pump set at max settings I could not get any milk to come out. Fortunately when I contacted the Supplier I bought it from they allowed me to send it back to them and upgrade to the Pump in Style Advanced. That is a wonderful pump.
My best advice is, if you try renting a hospital pump and want something similar get the pump in style ADVANCED. It is more similar to the hospital grade one.

6 months and still nursing while working full time
This pump worked great. I went back to work full time when my daughter was 9 weeks and at 6 months, we're still going strong. I pump twice a day with the Medela Pump in Style. I like the way everything fits in the case, and the battery pack is great for when I don't have access to an outlet. I also HIGHLY recommend getting the microsteam bags so you can clean all the parts in the microwave after each use. This saves so much time!
Also, for anyone who wants to breastfeed but is concerned about going back to work: I read these reviews before my daughter was born and it was such an encouragement to see so many moms who had done it. You can do it, too! Use all the resources you can, and don't be discouraged!

Essential Equipment for the Breastfeeding Mom
I hesitated to purchase this pump when I was unsure how often I would need it. I'm so glad I already had it when I brought my baby home from the hospital.

As it turns out I struggle with low milk supply and use it daily. I have also rented the hospital grade Lactina pumps for long periods of time and found that ultimately I respond better to this one. With the Lactina you cannot adjust the speed of suction as you can with the Pump in Style.

The battery pack takes a whopping 8 AA batteries, however it does last. I have used this pump in the car during 2 500-mile round trips and a few times at church and have yet to need to change the batteries.

If you anticipate frequent use in the car, such as at work if your company doesn't have a suitable accomodation, I recommend investing in the car cigarette lighter adapter which is available for purchase separately.

I find it also helps to have extra Medela containers for your rotation. They also be purchased separately. (However, I do not recommend the Medela nuk-style nipple for breastfed babies.)
