The scanner uses a Contact Image Scanner (CIS) for scans at up to 4800 dpi optical resolution with a scan size of up to 8.6 by 11.7 inches. The copier supports pages up to this size as well and you can make up to 50 copies in one pass. Color copies are supported and there are settings for enlarging and reducing from 50 to 400 percent. Nothing but problems
I have had nothing but problems with this printer. I bought it for the all-in-one features and to free up some room on my desk. From the beginning, the scanner never worked. I kept getting error messages. I tried several times to correct the problem with the tech people but I had nothing but problems reaching them. Then the printer kept getting paper jams in the back. Now the rollers don't grip the paper and any copies I make only come out half or barely completed. Also, after I replace an empty ink cartridge, when I try to print, I get a message stating that the cartridge is empty and do I want to print in black only. This happens no matter which ink cartridge I replace. I will never buy an all-in-one product from Hewlett Packard again. The only feature that has worked without any problems is the fax nor did I have any problem with the software installation.

Best printer so far
We have 3 other printers and the hp c7280 is the easiest to use. The others are an Epson and 2) HP's one being an all in one. The color is perfect and the ability to insert an SD card and print out Photos is absolutely amazing. I've had this printer for 6 weeks now and have yet to find a flaw.
