Better then first expected
Always check the QVL and CPU support list, it will save you time and pain!
Got this w/ a 5000+BE & OCZ 2gig 800mhz dual kit and booted 1st time np (both picked from the QVL/CPU support lists from asus). Can update the bios w/usb drive or floppy. Has support for phenom 9950BE 140w/125w. I don't use the mempipe because my ram has h/s. Comes w/ alot of extras(came w/ game), sli and tri-sli connectors, usb/firwire risers. floppy & IDE & SATA cables. Has IGP w/ d-sub and hdmi, didn't really try it out that much but cool that it is there. Best of all, it will also support the phenom II(deneb AM2+ and AM3 verisons). Will hope to upgrade to a phenom II (AM2+ 125w or AM3 95w) and Corsair 4gig 1066mhz dual kit + EVGA GTX 260 216 core(55nm). Hope it helps but remember to make sure you check out the support lists.
Good. But needs BIOS update for new processors
Bought one of these boards for use with a new AMD 9950 black edition Phenom X4. Thought it was broken (system powered off and on automatically after i turned it on the first time). The Board BIOS needed updating from 0701 to 1301 or better to work. The only way to upgrade was to first use an earlier supported processor ( athlon 64 x2 @ some low price [no time to send the board back to mfg]), download the firmware and 'flash it' using the utility on the provided dvd (which will update itself also!). Once updating is complete, works just fine. If you get an error: 'The required line was not found in the INF', load the ethernet drivers from the support dvd last and it should go away.
Good
This motherboard has a ton of features, awesome for building a gaming rig. It puts an emphasis on cool the chipsets because of the 3-way SLI. I will be putting 2 cards together once it comes. It even has heatsinks for ram but only if they don't have sinks on there already. I ordered this on tuesday, got it on thursday thanks to amazon.
