Customer Reviews

The only type of hub to have for a notebook5
This little 4-usb hub is great because you can plug in any size device. Most inline hubs leave little room for anything thicker than a usb cable plug or a small flash drive.

Very cute USB hub4
It's very cute and light; fast speed but the cord is too short. Sellers should specify the length of the cord for this type of products. Good for laptop!

Handy travel hub5
I got this to use with my laptop, since it only has two USB ports (and one is permanently reserved for the mouse, because I don't like touchpads). The Belkin Mini Hub has a clever, compact design because:
1. The cable is built into the hub, eliminating the need for an extra USB cable -- one more item to tangle up or lose in the backpack black hole. A word of advice, however: it is evident that this hub was conceived to be used on laptops, since the cable is very, very short. There is no way you can hook it up to a regular desktop USB port and have the mobility to switch USB devices around on it unless you use a USB extension cable to bring the hub to the front of the desktop.
2. The square shape, with one USB port on each side, allows you to hook up wider or thicker devices (like, for instance, a Delkin e-Film CompactFlash card reader) with no problem. Most hubs I saw on amazon.com have the USB ports all piled up one atop the other, or very close together side by side. This layout only allows you to plug in devices that have USB cables (like the Sandisk CompactFlash card reader). There is simply no space for any other design. Since I try to avoid carrying extra items when I travel -- less to pack, less to forget, less to misplace --, I prefer devices with built-in USB connectors. And for this the Belkin Mini Hub is perfect.

Wimdows XP Pro SP3 recognized the Mini Hub instantly, like it should, and the devices currently connected to it (an external hard drive and my MP3 player) are working perfectly. I've got nothing to complain about.
