Customer Reviews
Very nice
Installed on XP SP3. Disable onboard sound in CMOS, install card, install software from CD. No hassle install, no glitches, no surprises. Allows for 8 speaker setup (have 4 speakers w/sub woofer). Works, sounds good.
Vast inprovement over onboard sound system.
Unreliable
This thing sounds wonderful ... when it works.
Problem is it only works for short time, then totally loses it's mind and freezes up my system. I can rarely listen to more than 6 songs in a row without total meltdown.
It is much better at ripping MP3's, but about 1 out of 25 songs need to be redone as the encoding causes MP3 players to skip huge sections of the song.
Save your money, buy something else.
it does the job
well lets gets this straight I broght this sound card for a old p4 running at a decent 2.6 GHz 2GB of ram for a old dell 3800 and need a new sound card 2 run vista OS. the driver software won't work with vista have to go and download the lastest driver from diamond multmeida.Gave it to a friends mother and cost me $100 after minor upgrades. The sound won't blow you away ether spend more money else where or upgrade ur GPU card or mobo with better intergraded audio codic.
