Great Cooler for a hot Notebook!
I have three coolers, the one made by Rain, which I like very much, the one made by Belkin and this one.

The fact that this has the very quiet fans makes this one hands down my favorite. It is not as comfortable as the RAIN and if there was a way to combine the two that would be the best possible combination for cooling and comfort.

It gets the job done, no more heat in my lap, keeps the Mac Pro cool as a cucumber and for those reasons I highly recommend this product!

Does it job beautifully, though my laptop doesn't fit entirely
As a self-employed computer professional who keeps my laptop running nearly 24/7, I had to have something that would cool it down. This wasn't just heating up my desk -- it was heating up my entire office. My office is 10x10 in a new construction home that is VERY well insulated, and my laptop was heating my entire office by up to a few degrees.

This laptop cooler has been a godsend. I was concerned about fan noise with one of these things, but these fans are so quiet that the only way I can tell if they are running is to feel the air or look at the physical fans. I have extremely acute hearing, and I cannot hear the fans at all. Within five minutes of running my laptop on this cooler, my entire office was perceptibly cooler. It puts the laptop at a comfortable height for prolonged use.

This is doing the job nearly perfectly -- only one thing keeps it from a five-star review, and that's its size. I did order the regular size instead of the wide version, which I should have done because I have a 17" Toshiba Satellite. The side to side fit isn't the problem, and I am told that the widescreen version of this cooling mat has the same design flaw: it's not quite deep enough. For regular use, this isn't a problem, but going for the power button makes my computer tip backward. I will need to find something to prop it up in the back.

Perfect for macbook
Light, practically inaudible, solid construction. I looked around for weeks before choosing this and I think I made the right choice. It does a great job cooling. I have a Macbook I got in 2007 and this fits it perfectly. Since the fans are toward the back, they hit the real hotspot which is in the back left corner; other coolers have their fans in the middle.

The USB ports on the cooler are in the back right corner and my USB ports are on the left side, so the cord comes around the back, but it's not a problem for me.
