We placed this ontop of the sleeping bag. It was comfy to sleep on while it was hot outside. The sleeping bag was a fluffy pad. I had originally planned on using it on the exposed floor of the tent to eat on without sitting on ... whatever material the floor of the tent is. That would have worked also.
