Editorial Review
Move over, man’s best friend, the iDog’s here! Nourished exclusively on music (although, like all of us, it appreciates a little positive attention), the palm-sized iDog moves and grooves to the rhythm of your musical beat. For a robotic canine, the iDog is remarkably expressive, employing an entertaining assortment of flashing lights, head tilts, ear lifts, and even growls (should you flick its tail). Plug it into a portable music device with the included dual connector cable, and watch it respond while the built-in speaker plays along. All dogs like to be off the leash, however, so iDog can go wireless, too--simply place it next to a speaker, or take it anywhere music is playing. With such winning design, even those skeptical of robotic toys may find themselves giving it a pat on the head to reward it for rocking well done, or pressing its nose to let the pup take a nap. Multicolored lights, sounds, and movements, along with a "personality" programmed by your continued musical input, keep the iDog fun and interesting. --Heather Lyndon

like a miniature Sony Aibo robot
If you're not into cleaning up after a real dog, try Hasbro's I-Dog. Clad in traditional iPod white, the I-Dog looks like a miniature Sony Aibo robot. This pooch plugs into your headphone jack and dances to your favorite songs. Jody Bissoon
Not worth much
Cute product, and my kids liked it at first, but the sound quality is so poor, and the volume is so low that my kids stopped using it after the first day. You can barely hear this, unless the room is absolutely silent, and you are sitting right next to it. The movement is a bit noisy too, which doesn't help. I wish I had paid more for the IDog AMPED version, which my friends are happy with. Volume is just way too low to enjoy this product, even with the Mp3 player turned up all the way.
disappointed
I was expecting the i-dog that moved ears and paws. this must be the last season product since only the ears moved. Now I know why it was cheaper on-line than in the stores. I was disappointed.
