Its like a tear jerker movie for guys3
I liked watching it once, but not sure if I'll need to watch it again. It's very nicely done but I don't think it's a serious collection piece. It's brief, emotional and feels great as you watch it for the first time, especially if you love Boston...This dvd is like a tear jerker romantic movie..only this one is for boys..it's a Boston championships sampler plate.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS !!5
In the wake of the recent dearth of titles, posted by various local professional teams, Boston sports fans seem to have plenty of choices these days, in terms of sports highlight DVDs.

But if you need an historical Boston sports video, this is the one. This disc features all the important post-World War II highlights from the four Boston-area teams -- Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots (Foxborough). There are also a few clips of the area colleges, including Boston College's "Hail Flutie" pass in 1984.

The soundtrack is just plain terrific, with tunes by Five for Fighting, Aerosmith, Stone Temple Pilots, the Isley Brothers, etc.

The bonus areas include interviews with those who had otherwise also been interviewed as part of the video. One of the funniest is with Boston sportswriter Mike Barnicle, who relates stories of meeting Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle as a youth. And Mantle actually signed a baseball for one of Barnicle's buddies ... not exactly writing the most kid-friendly phrase on the ball ... :-)

Another funny story is told by Tommy Heinsohn, former player and coach with the Celtics, as he describes a highway "apple fight" which resulted in Red Auerbach being arrested by the local authorities in western Massachusetts.

It's great fun. Get it and enjoy.

Boston's Best4
I really thought that Jamie Most did an excellent job putting together the Best of Boston sports highlights. Very well done. Showed a lot of highlights that the casual sports fan doesn't know about, like the 4th quarter of Game 7 NBA Playoffs in 88 between Bird and Dominique Wilkins. Not enough Patriots stuff for me, though the Snow Bowl and Tuck game as well as the Super Bowl in which Viniateri won it at the buzzer were good.

One criticism: Too much Parcells and Pitino.
